Our vision is ‘Life is gr8 for young people’ and we provide a range of support services for young people aged 16-25 years who have not had a fair deal. We believe that young people should make their own choices, risk mistakes and participate. Our aims are ‘Strength Excellence and Vision’, ‘Getting you to where you want to be’ and ‘Led by You’. MACS core services are Supported Housing, Volunteers Inspiring People (VIP) and Floating Support.
MACS Supporting Young People works with young people aged 16-25 who are:
· Experiencing mental health difficulties
· Misusing substances
· Engaged in anti-social behaviour
· Care experienced or have social services involvement
· Homeless or at risk of homelessness
· Who self harm and/or are suicidal and who are marginalised and at risk.
We work across the highest areas of deprivation within the Greater Belfast, Lisburn, Downpatrick, Newry and the Co. Down areas. The young people we support often have become stuck, and are engaged in negative patterns of thinking, and behaviour that prevent them from fulfilling their potential and leading the lives that they want to lead. Our main role is to help them through this period so that they can move on and achieve the goals that they have set for themselves.
MACS provides a range of services for young people including Supported Housing for care experienced young people in Belfast, an integrated Housing/Floating Support Project (Downpatrick and Newry), Floating Support (Belfast and South Eastern Trust) and Volunteers Inspiring People (VIP) and Participate Now (Youth Participation Project, Belfast and South Eastern Trust).
